I changed my fork oil last weekend. The bike shop sold me a 1 litre bottle of fork oil. The bottle said the oil resisted frothing as the forks moved.
I would change the oil every 2 to 4 years.
I wouldn't change the fork seals unless they were leaking.
It was a straight forward job. I supported the bike and removed both forks. With the caps off, I inverted the forks and let them drain - pumping them a few times to help the oil come out. I didn't think it necessary to flush out the forks with a solvent - this might do more harm than good. No further dismantling is necessary if you are just changing the oil.
I refilled the forks with 441cc of fork oil in each side then put them back on the bike.
Nothing else to report. It was a simple and straightforward job.
